[HCH] Weekly Chat, Faith, and Tidy Up Tips

Aug 06, 2020 2:07 am

Hello lovely ladies,

August is here! Trying so hard to wrap my mind around the fact that summer is halfway over. How about you?  My youngest son is planning to leave at the end of this month to head back to Bible college...so we are diving into the prep stages for all of that stuff. Ha! ha!

The molar tooth I had extracted last week is on the mends... but let me tell you... I don't seem to do anything on the easy side. Ha! ha!

I've been battling an infection with it... but finally had a great turnaround when I woke up this morning. It's kept me busy taking extra supplements, salt water rinses after each meal, placing a black tea bag on the roof of my mouth for an hour to pull out infection and toxins, cold packs, oil pulling in the mornings (that's where you take coconut oil and swish around for awhile to clean teeth and pull out toxins). You name it!

I was kind of discouraged yesterday, and did beg for God's wisdom and healing. I was hoping not to have to go on more antibiotics again... and thankfully, I don't think I will have to call for more now. Praise the Lord! Perhaps this journey will finally come to an end...something that I've been dealing with since April.

My friends, I hope you are doing well... I do enjoy hearing from you. Never feel that you're being a bother... I love hearing from you!

In saying all of that, I know that many of you have issues that are near and dear to your heart. There are burdens that you cannot always share. Remember that God sees each tear that falls... He knows your burdens. My goal is to encourage you to continue on in the faith and trust Him anyway!

Faith is NOT the absence of fear, as we can learn from the book of Psalms, which is more or less David's prayer journal. When he fought the Philistine giant, remember God prepared him prior to that when he faced the bear and the lion and conquered those. Our faith increases through each trial and each different journey we take.

Faith is trusting God anyways... just take another step of faith today!

((Love, prayers & hugs))

7 Tidbits from my journal: (Use these ideas for your journal or ministry)

Fear breeds more fear. On the other side of the coin, courage breeds more courage. Which one will you induce in others through your example?

"Show me where you spend your money, and I will show you where your heart is." - Dr. Mike Rouse

"It is impossible to mentally or socially enslave a Bible-reading people. The principles of the Bible are groundwork of human freedom." - H. Greely

"Your weakness does not disqualify you from following Jesus, from living out his commission, or from doing good and meaningful work in God's kingdom. In fact, the weakness you so wish you could just erase from your life is the very thing God might use to make his power evident and draw other to Jesus through you." - Shared by my dad, from unknown source.

"Here's one way I can know that I've forgotten the gospel of grace: When your sin bothers me more than my own." - Pastor Bill G. Marshall

"You and I are uniquely qualified to be a blessing to others because we know Christ and because we have learned to trust Him in difficult times." - Dr. Guy Goodell (*See II Corinthians 1:4)

QUESTION: What kind of day are you having today? "Even as a Christian, you'll have good days, and you'll have really hard days. But, you'll never have a day without God." - Facebook, P. Larson

Bible Verse of the Week:

"I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved." - Psalm 18:8

How do you stay steady in the race? Keep your eyes upon God! Pleasing Him is your main focus!

Today's Tidy Up Tips: Zone Ideas for Your Home

You may not need all these zones, but these are common zones or stations that many people use in their home in order to combat clutter and disorganization…

The first thing you need to do is make a list of the ACTIVITIES you do daily or weekly. For example, maybe you like to read the newspaper with your morning coffee, or you like to bake a lot. It really depends on you and your family needs.

Coffee Station – If you like having morning coffee, set up a coffee bar in your home. All you need is a cabinet or table that will hold the coffee maker and tools. Your sugar, honey, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and mugs can all go in this area. If it’s close to your favorite “morning view,” that’s even better.

Chopping Station – When you cook think of how you do it and what you do. Having an area where the knives and cutting board are near where you will do all your prep is a great way reduce the amount of time used setting up to get started.

Baking Station – Do you like to bake? A baking and mixing station, if you have room, is also a good zone to set up. Your mixer, the pans, spices, the decorating equipment, and so forth should all be right around that area.

Primping Station – For most people this is a bright area in the bathroom or bedroom, where you get ready and/or add finishing touches before you start your day. However, this area may be in your bedroom and incorporate a vanity or makeup table, where you keep all of your beauty or personal care products/tools. Some people call this a dressing room, especially if it’s separate from your bedroom.

Bill Paying Station – Keeping all your bills, your checkbook, files and anything else you need to use, such as a computer, should all be in the same area. Setting up the area will ensure that you can get done in a speedy manner.

Reading Station – If you or anyone in the family likes to read, setting up a reading corner or area will encourage everyone to do more of it. It should be a quiet place with good lighting, a pillow, a blanket, and a chair at least.

Study Station – If you or your kids have to study or work at home, setting up an area that can be easily used as the study station is a great way to avoid cluttering up the entire house with books or papers. You may set up a zone in the dining room, living room, or a spare bedroom or home office.

When you have stations or zones set for the things you do regularly, it’s going to make your home more functional and save time. Plus, storing items where they will be used the most, will also keep your home more organized.
