[HCH] Quick News, Journal Tidbits, Weekly Verse, Tidy Up Tips
Jun 17, 2020 10:35 pm
Hello lovely ladies,
I have a dental appointment this afternoon, so I've pushed to get this newsletter ready to go extra early. In saying that, I'm keeping my chat SUPER short, but I have included the weekly journaling tidbits below, Bible verse, and Tidy Up Tips.
*NEED TO LET YOU KNOW: My husband is getting furloughed again -- next week from his job. We're hoping and praying that it's only going to be one week. In saying that, we have plans now that the weather is warmer, to work on the outside of our house with painting and other projects. (We already have purchased the paint long ago for this project.)
>> So, next week I'm also taking a "furlough" myself from HCH blog and next week's newsletter. It almost pains me to say that because I look foward to connecting with you each week, but there are times when you have to adjust your schedule, and give yourself some grace when you have upcoming plans that require a lot of your energy and time.
SIDE NOTE: I will try to send out the new Bible reading schedule planner for July on the last day of June (the 30th).

7 Tidbits from my journal: (Use these ideas for your journal or ministry)
Don't ruin a good today because of a bad yesterday.
"The first priority of Bible Study is personal application. One of the reasons we fail to apply the Scripture is because we fail to understand the power of God's Word on us and our world." - Refreshing Daily in God's Word, June 2020
"You Christians have in your keeping a document (Bible) with enough power in it to blow the whole of civilization to bits, to turn a society upside down, to bring peace to this war-torn world. But you read it as if it were just good literature, and nothing else." - Mahatma Gandi
Have a planned time to read and study your Bible. (This is key to making it a priority and getting it done daily!)
Intimacy with GOD breeds CONFIDENCE.
Gypsy Smith (1860-1947), the British evangelist, was once asked, "Brother Smith, how do we have revival?" Gypsy answered, "Take a piece of chalk and draw a circle on the floor. Then, step inside that circle and pray: 'Lord, send a revival inside this circle.' - RDIGW, June 2020 issue
QUESTION: Do you have a flawed view of duty? Consider what GOD wants -- not what man wants. Our loyalty and duty is first to Him!
=======================================
Bible Verse of the Week:
"Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful." - I Corinthians 4:2 KJV
Whether we consider ourselves talented or not, we all have the ability to be FAITHFUL! That's the best gift to give of ourselves to our Heavenly Father!

Today's Tidy Up Tips: House Parties or Events Inspire Cleanup
Hey, throwing a party or social event is a sure-fire way to force yourself to clean up! Am I right? Ha! Ha!
Send Out Invitations
Don’t overthink all the minor and major details yet; just send out the invites. You want to have sent the invites out at least two to four weeks before your event or party.
Set Up a Cleaning Schedule
Now with the date set and invitations sent, you can set up a cleaning schedule that will work for decluttering and setting up party fun.
Make a full list of what needs to be done to make things tidy in every room. Work your way back towards today. Enter each thing you need to do each day and the time frame it will require to complete. For example, if you need to clean the guest bathroom and reorganize it, you may want to do that early on, and have it done, that way, closer to the event, you will only need to focus on the food preparations and last minute wipe down of your bathroom.
Let Your Guests Help
Don’t work too hard for the party. People can bring their own dishes. A potluck is a great way to do it. You can also throw a “get rid of stuff” party if you want to. Everyone brings something with them that they don’t want anymore for a fun swap -- and you agree to donate anything that’s left on their behalf. Make sure you plan to deliver the donations right away and that everyone can put the stuff right in your vehicle or a storage pod.
Have Fun! It’s a party, so now that your home is uncluttered and the guests have brought the food, enjoy yourself. Let people help clean up too. Usually, most people are happy to help clean up after eating before the next thing at a party.
This is an extreme way to force yourself to get your home decluttered and clean. However, it’s very freeing to realize you can make goals, stick to a schedule, and get things done.
Now that you have that success under your belt, you can use the same strategies to achieve the results again, with or without having the party. However, having a party or event is a great way to reward yourself, your family, and everyone you invite to join in.
