I am considering writing a children's book explaining HRIS. Something that I hope will be fun for kids first (maybe an HRIS superhero of some sort) with some humorous winks to those of us in the HRIS business.
This may seem like a really stupid idea but I thought it may help explain to our kids what we do and why it is important. It may even help us explain it to our adult friends (mine still have very little idea what I do after 25 years of doing it).
If you want to follow along on the journey and even get an early draft of the book to give your feedback, please sign up for the email list.
It is hard enough to explain to an adult what we do, let alone a child (I am thinking of targeting 3 - 7-year-olds). If I do it I will be teaming up with an actual children’s book author (your feedback will help me make that decision).
1) Tell me how stupid an idea it is if you think so (it will save me $$$ and time).
2) Have you ever tried to explain what you do to a kid, and, if so, have you found a good way to do it and\or what do you find that is hardest to explain?
