Something kinda cool happened this week

Something kind of cool happened this week. I listened to the Chief Sumo of AppSumo's new book, "Million Dollar Weekend," which was packed with information and completely fluff-free.

On the second listen to the book, I felt inspired and woke up super early the next morning to create a Notion template which, in my humble opinion, was simpler and easier to use. Despite feeling a bit like an imposter, I sent it off via email. And what do you know? He emailed back!

Yeah, yeah. He said less than five words. But what do you know? It taught me something very valuable:

  1. Be a person of principles and practice what you preach. He said he would respond to his emails, and he did! Now, you might think, “But Harrrrrrrrrison, what about AI?” Listen, it came from his personal Gmail account, so I know he read it.

  1. It is truly not about the perfect product. Honestly, I thought what I sent was super sh*t at first. Everyone else seems to have all these cool templates, mind-bending automations, and dope schemas. Don't overthink it.

  1. Have fun. I was having fun and sent it not because I expected a response– I just thought it was cool. And then I thought, you know who else might think this is cool too? Noah. If there’s one thing I’m re-learning this year, it's to enjoy the process.

If you’re interested in the template, just reply to this email.

Also, If you don’t know about Noah Kagan here are the cliff notes directly pulled from his own Twitter this week:

  • Rejected by MSFT
  • Rejected by Google (2x)
  • Fired by FB after 9 months
  • Fired by mint .com after 10 months
  • Built 20+ startups that didn’t work ou
  • Finally, I started @AppSumo

Now that's a startup story.

Till next week✌️
