Dear Cast,

It is almost time!! And we have a few things to take care of. 

We will have our full dress rehearsal on Oct 24th at 4:30 PM at the Venue at Sugar Land Methodist Church (431 Eldridge RD., Sugar Land, TX 77478) It is crucial that we all be on time!

REMINDER for those of you who did not bring your wardrobe to the last rehearsal for approval, please note the following and send a photo to [email protected] ASAP.

Men: Black pants and black long sleeve shirt. Pants with a belt.

Women: Black dress/black skirt/black pants and long sleeve or short sleeve shirt. (Bring options)

NOTE: No spaghetti straps, halters, or otherwise distracting clothing. We want to keep the focus on your voice

In the meantime...here are the top 3 ways that our Director would like for you to prepare.

• Read through your lines for clarity: This helps actors understand the script thoroughly, including character motivations, plot developments, moods, and transitions. Knowing the story's direction can provide valuable hints for delivering your narration with appropriate tone and inflection. 
• Speed through your lines three or four times back to back: This technique, sometimes called "Italian Rehearsal" or a "speed-through," builds muscle memory, forcing actors to listen for cues and say the words as written. It helps eliminate unnecessary pauses, embellishments, and paraphrasing, ensuring you concentrate on the author's words. It helps tighten the pace of a performance.
• Hydrate and practice reading in front of others, especially for a live performance: Hydration is crucial for vocal health and stamina, especially for actors who rely on their voice. Be sure to bring your own water with you in a closed container. Practicing in front of others helps dispell nerves and improves performance. It helps us to genuinely understand the script, explain the plot and character arcs, and communicate your character's emotions more effectively.
