Why Your Google Business Profile Matters (For Non-Profits, too!)

Hi,

Have you thought about your Google Business Profile lately? Even for nonprofits and churches, your GBP plays a significant role in how people discover you and decide whether to trust you.

When someone searches for your organization—or for services you provide—your Google listing is often the first thing they see. It communicates legitimacy, location, hours, and activity at a glance. An incomplete or neglected profile can quietly create uncertainty, even if your website itself is solid.

A well-maintained profile does more than help with search visibility. It reinforces credibility. Updated photos, accurate contact details, and recent posts signal that your organization is active, attentive, and trustworthy. These are small signals, but they add up—especially for first-time visitors, donors, or families deciding where to engage.

If you haven’t looked at your Google Business Profile in a while, a simple check-in can go a long way: Are your hours correct? Does the description reflect who you are now? Are there photos that reflect real life rather than stock images from years ago?

As with most things on the web, consistency matters more than flash. Steady care reduces friction and helps your digital presence do its job.

If you’re already a Hale Creative client, I’m happy to review or manage this as part of ongoing site care.

And if you’re not currently working with me but are wondering whether your online presence is fully supporting your mission, I’m always glad to take a look, just reply to this email and let me know!

All the best,
