June Newsletter

Hi ,

The school year is coming to a close (or already has, depending on what schedule you follow) and my family is settling into our summer location. Changes in routines, locations, schedules, and activities can take some adjustment. What does your family do to help you settle into a new routine?

When we have too much change taking place, emotions can get fragile. However, cooperative games help us! We're able to exercise our minds and all work together. Regular family game time helps us all feel more settled, too.

This past month, I posted the following reviews:

  • Habitat is perfect for learning about food webs, particularly of the north woods (that's actually the next unit study I want to make!).
  • Backyard Builders Treehouse is a fun card game that's easy enough for even young kids but still engaging for older kids and adults.
  • Ultimate Werewolf is the ultimate party game for bigger groups of teens! I've only ever heard positive things about this game!
  • Escape Academy is a digital escape room game that you can play by yourself or with a partner.

In June, you can look forward to a round-up post of all the different escape room games I have tried, Sail Away, Crows, Wednesday, and Code Names. On the YouTube channel, play-through videos were posted of Beep! Beep!, Backyard Builders Treehouse, Astro Trash, and Rainbow Math 3: Pirate Adventure. This month, look for play-throughs of Dragonwood, Prime Climb, Road Scholar: Play and Learn Spanish, and a Finders Seekers Escape Room.

As we head into the summer months (or winter if you're in the southern hemisphere), I wish lots of fun, laughs, love, and connection for you and your kids. Once that's there, the learning is easy. Until next time,

Happy Gaming!
