Greetings ,
Welcome to the Gregeration X Newsletter for July 10th, 2021. If you are receiving this message, it means somewhere along the line you signed up to receive my newsletters in exchange for downloading the novella, Duel of Destiny, or you found your way here after reading Pax Machina, or seeing a post on social media. No matter how you found your way here, WELCOME! And while I hope you stay subscribed, you are free to unsubscribe at anytime.
Today, I'd like to introduce you to my next release, Unexpected Contact. This is a follow-up novella to Duel of Destiny and will be available beginning August 17th, 2021. I'll be talking more about Unexpected Contact in the next few newsletters, but today I wanted to share the cover with you.
This was actually the first cover I ever purchased as an author. It was on sale as a pre-made cover by the awesome Jake Caleb of J Caleb Design. I loved the retro design and pulpy feel so much that I bought it outright, even though I didn't have an idea for the story. That being said, the woman on the cover was the exact image I had of Sigrid as I had written her in Pax Machina and Mechs and Machinations. I figured at some point she'd feature in a solo story of her own. What I didn't expect was how easily her story would tie in to Tala and TH3R's continuing adventures. Just how that occurs you'll have to wait and see!
While the ebook cover is great, I wanted to share the full artwork with you. I think it's a beautiful piece of art. The creases and weathering are intentional to give it a look of an older sci-fi pulp novel. Seeing Jake's talent on this piece made we want to use him on all my novella's such as Duel of Destiny and several others that are still in the planning stages. I'm excited that I get to work with Jake again next week to start planning the cover for the cover of the next novella!
Mechhaven Missives
- Speaking of Unexpected Contact, my edits are pretty much done, except for a handful of specific updates I want to make. Now, I'm working on the blurb and descriptions. These are all things I'll need in order to set the book up for Amazon and to have the paperback cover created.
- Since the book is just about ready, I will want to really push the marketing and word of mouth on this one. If your interested in getting an ebook copy of Unexpected Contact early (a week or two before the official release), I'd be happy to send you one in exchange for an honest review. I'd like to coordinate the release of the reviews with the release of the book. If you are interested in receiving and Advance Review Copy of Unexpected Contact (or other future releases) please sign up for a special mailing list using this link: ARC Team
- Due to taking a break for the Independence Day holiday weekend, a bout with seasonal allergies (which resulted in a trip to the doctor), and a busy work week, I didn't make a lot of progress on edits for Mechs and Machinations this week. I'm hoping to catch up this weekend!
- Calling All Reviews...if you've read any of my stories and enjoyed them, I encourage you to leave a review on Amazon or (Goodreads). Good reviews really help authors, especially newer authors, stand out from the crowd. I've provided the direct links to the Amazon review pages below. Please let me know if you run into any problems with these.
