Perhaps you've seen these sites before:

  • Expertise.com,
  • ThreeBestRated.com
  • Angi (formerly Angie's List)
  • BBB
  • Foursquare, and
  • Consumer Affairs.

They're local list serves. You search for a service provider, they deliver "the best."

It's simple for us as business owners too...

...you put their badge on your website, they get the social proof that their ratings are worthwhile, and you get "valued credentials" that your potential customers can see.

It's a free and easy arrangement, right?

Just yesterday, a new one came along, LegalDirectorate.com, and out of 355 Hamilton County-based private investigative companies has named our firm the best.

Cool!!

Two things, though:

  1. There aren't even close to 355 P.I.s in Hamilton. Let alone all of Ohio.
  2. I'm sitting in my home office in Butler County (just north of Hamilton County). Even though I have a mail drop in downtown Cincinnati and Kings Mills, Ohio. We're not based in Hamilton County.

I'm thankful that the artificial intelligence at LegalDirectorate (LD) has found my business to be the best. I even posted on my Google Maps directory about it.

Will it get more clients for us? Probably not.

Will it get more notoriety for LegalDirectorate? Probably, yes.

But, what is the best way to get new business, in my opinion?

Do ridiculously good work!!

Just my $.02

Plainly,

Adam
