GFT Union Members to Decide on Endorsements for Governor

Historically, the GFT Executive Council let its Committee on Political Education (COPE) decide the process of endorsements for the various political races. This year, COPE decided to poll the membership to avoid any bias from the elected officers. Since the two gubernatorial candidates (Republican team Felix Camacho and Tony Ada and Democrat team Lou Leon Guerrero and Joshua Tenorio) vying for the Office have spent time in the role of Governor, GFT asked a few pointed questions on how, under their tenure, they improved or planned to improve the lives and working conditions of all employees on Guam. The questions as well as the team responses can be viewed at https://gftunion.com/election2022/. GFT is thankful that both teams responded despite their busy schedules. One response is over an hour long while another is concise and about 13 minutes in length. An email will be sent out to all the members shortly after this one from Spark Chart, a service used to gather responses on surveys. This email is specific for each member and cannot be shared.

Please take the time to watch their responses before you make your decisions. The future of GFT, your work environment, and your island needs your commitment and due diligence in determining the direction of our union. Deadline for survey responses is on Saturday, October 22, 2022, by noon time. The survey should take about two minutes to complete.

As for senatorial candidates, they were sent a few questions as well and most have responded. Their information will be available on the gftunion.com website this upcoming week.
