Step up and claim what’s rightfully yours. The vision inside of you is waiting to be brought to life, but it won’t happen on its own. Don’t fool yourself into thinking that someone will hand you your dream - it’s time to put in the work. 

I remember a conversation with a friend who dreamed of becoming a metal guitar superstar. He had taken the first step and bought himself a new guitar. One day I asked him, “How much do you practice?” He replied, “I lost my motivation, so I haven’t been practicing much at all.” 

He shocked me when he went on to say, “Gene, I want someone to hand me my dream. I don’t want to work for it, I just want an opportunity.” I looked him in the eye and said, "It doesn’t work that way. Your dream will not be wrapped up in a gift and handed to you. Instead, you must dedicate yourself to your dream by being willing to work for it."

Some of you may have similar delusions, expecting others to make your dreams come true without realizing it's up to you. Don’t be the person longing for touchdowns in life, yet unwilling to run down the field. Instead, embrace the process and be willing to work towards your dream because You Are WORTHY TO BE GREAT!
