Greetings from frigid Abbotsford, British Columbia!

We are experiencing an arctic outflow due to a polar vortex. Whatever that means. I just know it’s as cold down here as it was when I lived in the arctic. And that was twenty years ago when I was much younger and heartier.

The cold is especially hard on my faithful companion (see photo below). She was looking awfully shaggy several weeks ago, so I took her in for a trim. This always happens – she gets a haircut and the weather turns. She has a winter coat (which she disdains) but she doesn’t have booties. An oversight I would like to rectify, but my instinct tells me the local pet store is likely sold out. This morning I had to carrying her home after our twenty-five-step walk. Brr.

How were your holidays? Feel free to hit replay and let me know how you spent them. Mine were beyond quiet. I did a podcast with Jeff over at The Big Gay Fiction Podcast on Christmas morning. OMG, I had so much fun talking about my latest book, my upcoming projects, and all the amazing authors who have influenced me and whose books I love. There were so many more I wanted to mention, but we had to keep it to a reasonable length. The episode drops January 10th. A true honor for me.

I had to write a professional test – and I passed (huge relief). I wasn’t able to get together with my family because of the weather, but we’ll rectify that shortly. I also had an email out of the blue from a relative I’ve not been in contact before. I need to get permission before I share, but I have to say Ancestry is a thing. You never know what’s going to happen. I’m writing a women’s fiction book based loosely on my experiences. At the rate I’m going, I might be finished before I die.

Okay, I have goodies! Just before that, I’ll tell you I have some great plans for the upcoming year – both my gay romances and some mf romances I’m finally publishing. More to come on that.

As we transition into 2022, I wish you all the best. Thanks to you, I put out 12 projects in 12 months. Your support has been instrumental in getting my stories out there. So I thank you. Now check out these great treats.

A new story! I joined together with over a dozen mm authors and we’ve put out new stories for you. Marcus's Cadence is a 7k short story. It’s a second chance instalove about two men who’ve loved each other for years and never had the courage to be honest. A little Christmas magic and poof, love thrives. (One of the guys is mentioned in my book Ginger Snapping all the Way and these characters appear in my new Mission City series launching in June 2022, so let this whet your appetite…)

What happens when your biggest crush turns up on your doorstep after twelve years?

Cadence Crawford has a good thing going. He’s making waves as a realtor in Mission City, British Columbia. Yes, he’s recently suffered a personal loss, but he’s moving on, and his path forward includes selling the only true home he’s ever known.

Marcus Brannigan is doing fine. He has his physiotherapy practice, he watches over his younger twin sisters, and he’s happy. When he unexpectedly runs into Cadence, who is selling the home he’s always coveted, he’s prepared to do some negotiating.

Neither knew they were seriously crushing on each other. Now they’ve admitted the truth, is happily ever after in the cards?

Marcus’s Cadence is a 7k second-chance gay romance instalove short story with a very happy ending and a malti-poo named Kiki.
