How to mix textures in your outfits

Hi ,
Do you want to know the secret to looking expensive without spending a fortune?
Mix different textures in one outfit.
Most people wear one texture at a time: cotton shirt, cotton pants, cotton blazer.
It's fine. But it's BORING.
When you mix textures, you add visual interest to even the simplest outfits.
What is texture mixing?
Combining different fabric textures in one outfit:
- Smooth + rough
- Shiny + dull
- Structured + flowy
- Soft + stiff
Easy Texture Combinations:
- Silk blouse + denim jeans (smooth + rough)
- Leather jacket + soft sweater (stiff + soft)
- Wool blazer + satin camisole (matte + shiny)
- Knit sweater + faux leather pants (soft + slick)
- Cotton shirt + velvet blazer (plain + rich)
The Rule: Mix at least 2 different textures in every outfit.
How to Do It:
💡 Start with neutrals when you're learning (black, white, grey, navy, beige)
💡 If one piece has a lot going on (leather, velvet, sequins), keep the other pieces simple
💡 You can wear all one color and still look interesting if you mix textures
💡 Touch your clothes—if everything feels the same, add something different
This Week's Challenge:
Look at what you're wearing tomorrow. How many textures do you have?
If everything is the same fabric, add ONE contrasting piece:
- A silk scarf with your cotton outfit
- A leather belt with your knit dress
- A denim jacket over your smooth blouse
Notice how much better you look!
Reply and tell me: What's your favorite texture to wear
