The Average of Your Default Day

Your success is equal to the average of your default day.

Good workouts happen. So do bad ones.
The same goes for our days. Some are good & productive. Some send us to bed feeling like we've just been through the spin cycle of a washing machine.
With our fitness, one solid workout doesn't make us fitter, nor does one slapdash training session make us less fit. It's only in aggregate that change happens. It's only on a long-enough timeline do we trend either upwards or not.
The same goes for our days.
It's easy to focus on the extremes, the upper ups & the lower lows. Unhelpfully, they leave the biggest impressions.
But neither matter, really.
What matters is every day. What matters is all the days. What matters is today.
We won't build a better life by aiming for it.
We'll do it by remembering that success, satisfaction, & impact are all downstream of today. They're all downstream of our next decision, our next action, our next distraction.
So, better to focus on the micro. Better to commit to elevating the average of our everyday. Better to be relentlessly consistent & persistent.
Because it's the only thing that matters.
