F-R Racing Insider - One of our most frustrating weeks ever
May 12, 2025 12:30 pm
Welcome back to this week's F-R Racing Insider! I would be lying if I said this wasn't one of the most frustrating weeks we've had as a team. We had one broadcast that wouldn't start and another race ending in a scoring controversy.
Thank you to everyone who entered the William Byron autographed die cast giveaway so far! If you haven't done so yet, enter by June 30th!
F-R Racing's Garage Talk - iRacing Struggles, NASCAR in Texas, IndyCar at Barber, F1 at Miami
At this start of this week's episode we go into the struggles we had with issues launching the live broadcast of the Indy Racing World Series season finale and having to resort to publishing a copy of the replay and the scoring controversy during Wednesday Night Dash at Talladega Superspeedway. While we believe the scoring was correct per the sporting code, iRacing has a lot to work on with their notification system for races that end under caution. We recap what happened there and what we sent to iRacing support.

Wednesday Night Dash - The Rock 80
Hunter Hughes survived the Talladega 106 and JM Motorsports finished 2-5, but the race was not without drama and controversy. This week the series heads to Rockingham Speedway for a battle on Thunder Alley.
Watch The Rock 80 Wednesday, May 14th only on Stadium Scene TV.
Indy Racing World Series Notes
Congratulations to Ian Miller on clinching the iRacing Indy Racing World Series title in a very close finish over Derek Booker. Catch our no broadcaster replay here.
The series returns in July. Get yourself locked in now before the series fills up.
F-R Racing's GT Sprint Series Notes
The GT Sprint Series had a small field on the Nürburgring 24h course last week due to the nature of the track and competing with the Indy 500 official event at the same time. Either way, Ian Miller put on a heck of a show flying through the course in a GT3 car. D.J. also explains in more detail the Wednesday Night Dash scoring controversy on the broadcast.
Crash Of The Week
We had a series at Talladega Superspeedway. Of course it was going to be Crash of the Week. We just didn't realize at the time how long this video was going to be.
