A luxury when it comes to camping, and even more so in bugging out is eating and enjoying delicious food. You can pack all you want when camping, but when it's time to bug out, weight is a huge consideration when it comes to what you can carry with you.

Even survival food can get heavy, but most of it is packaged very nicely in light weight pouches, so you can decide how much or little to take with you. We have buckets of food in our basement, but with out BOBs we obviously can't carry that much. Even if you are taking a truck or SUV, those buckets take up space pretty quickly.

That's why in our BOBs we each have about 12 pouches of food, they lay and stack very nicely in our bags, add very little weight, and will keep us going for days if need be.

Our go to survival food company is Legacy Foods. We've tried over a dozen different companies, and honesty Legacy has some of the best tasting food on the market. Most of which is even comparable to what you would be cooking at home.

I'm not going to oust any company here, but after we tried several others, and by we, I mean my wife, kids and myself. I can tell you my wife isn't that picky, but my teenagers on the other hand, yea, they are picky.

I know what many are thinking, hey when it gets rough you eat what you can. I believe in that philosophy as well, but if we can pack food that they enjoy anyway, it makes things a little easier to keep them fed and healthy.

So if you're interested in stocking up on the best tasting survival food, Legacy Food can hook you up, the variety they offer is pretty amazing, pretty much anything you can think of, and they have the lowest cost per pound when compared to other companies.
