Stranded due to fires, our favorite types of rocket stoves, into the time machine and more in today's email.

Good morning and happy Thursday, another week is almost complete. You know that old saying, weeks go slow but years go fast, seems truer and truer the older I get.

"The plea for help appeared on Facebook just after noon." Unless you've been living under a rock, you are aware of the fires that are making their ways up our western coast, destroying property and taking lives as it spreads.

I've read and watched more stories of people pleading for help then I care to talk about. But hearing the stories of the survivors made me realize, that this is the time to talk about such things.

Now there are different groups of people when it comes to how they are affected by these fires. Side note, if you're having a gender reveal party, maybe just make it you, the other parent to be, and the nurse or doctor who conducts the ultrasound...then just send a text to everyone else, lol.

Anyway, there people who are directly affected by these fires, meaning their property is literally on fire, or in the direct path of the fires, and they have to leave, not knowing what they will be returning to, if anything.

Then there are the people who are indirectly affected by the fires. These are the people who aren't in danger of losing their lives or property from fire, but are stranded due to the fire, and have no where to go or they just can't escape.

The first group are, in my opinion, more fortunate then the second group. At least they have the option of getting out. The second group are stuck.

The second group is where my real concern is. Imagine, being stranded by fire, even though you may be able to see it, you know the only way out is blocked. You look in the fridge and pantry and realize, you might be lucky enough to have a week's worth of food, if you ration it.

That's why I've been telling everyone about Legacy Foods, but survival food in general can fill this void. I just know the folks at Legacy and have tried several foods from there, and can attest to how easy they are to make and how great they taste.

Anyway, having adequate food storage is so important to your survival. Whether you're stranded from a gender reveal fire, hurricane, or any number of other things. If you don't have food, chances are you aren't going to make it long.

So if you're food storage is lacking and could use some help, Legacy Foods can help you out. They have the best food for the lowest per pound cost.
