You aren't going to be bugging out

Oct 07, 2020 2:16 pm

I know everyone packs a bug out bag, usually more then one if you have others going with you, and you probably update it through out the year with new gear, switching out food, and clothes based on the upcoming season.

But in reality, you aren't going anywhere. There are far more situations and scenarios where you would be better off, and far safer bugging in, hunkering down, batting down the hatches, and just stay put.

Once you leave your home, your castle, the thing you probably fortified and prepped more then anything else, the danger potential sky rockets.

If you decide to bug out, you better have a really good reason to leave the safety of your home, and you better have a route b to your a and route c to your b, because it all sounds good and looks good on paper, but once you step out that door, if chaos is already all around you, your chances of survival start decreasing very rapidly.

I don't say this to scare you, I say it so you are better equipped to face reality. Before you decide to get out of Dodge, you need to take a good long look around. Why are you leaving? Is it safer to stay put? Lots of things need to be considered before leaving.

So my advice in almost every situation is to make sure you have plenty of supplies at your home, and hunker down when it hits the fan. Unless a major natural disaster hits, a nuclear bomb is imminent, or some other major event is going to render you place unlivable.

A good place to start is food, you have to have enough food to last through the disaster, or until rescue efforts can reach you. You won't be able to carry that much with you, so buy some bulk survival food, store it properly, and be ready to eat better than your neighbors during this survival situation.

I always recommend people checking out our friends at Legacy Foods. They have the best prices per pound, and their food is delicious. I suggest starting with one of their packages.

They are running a 30% off special on a National Preparedness Month bundle, which is a great deal.

They do of course have much larger packages as well, if your budget will afford it.
