🗺 What if you have no where to go?

Question came up in our Facebook group the other day from a guy who lives in LA and is concerned that if the SHTF he won't have anywhere to bug out to.

A lot of people of course jumped on the "get out of Cali" bandwagon. But moving isn't always a feasible option for people.

I mean many of us can't just up root everything we have and move across the country. We have jobs, mortgages, family and other responsibilities where we live as we've created and entire life here.

So my advice to him, and anyone else in that situation is to start looking around your area. LA is a massive city, I've only been once, and didn't really look around all that much, I was there for a conference.

But I can tell you that if you look at a map, you can you're going to need a plan to get moving quickly if something were to happen. It's going to take you a very long time to get out of Dodge on this one.

Form the looks of things, he should to head east or north, or northeast.

But you may not live in LA, maybe you live in a smaller rural community, but still feel you have no where to go.

The best thing to do in the situations, is start looking and planning now, long before a SHTF situation happens.

Grab a map, Google or Apple Maps are fine, but if you can get a physical map, especially that has topography on it, you should be able to find an area that is outside the city limits, free of danger.

Start working on your bug out plan. How far away is this place? Have at minimum 3 ways to get there. You never know when a road will be closed, or traffic will be backed up.

If you think you have no where to go, start looking now. There is always somewhere. It may be further than you'd prefer. But it's there.

Get your plans made now, and do a couple practice runs for each method of reaching your bug out location. Time it, and and see how you do.

PS. Did you know coffee can be a huge moral booster in a SHTF situation? It was used for this purpose in the revolutionary war. Our soldiers would be cold, tired and often lose hope because of the huge force they were up against. General Washington ordered to stop handing out liquor and start handing out coffee. There's nothing like sitting around a campfire with a fresh cup of great tasting coffee to put you in a better mood. If you're ready to up your coffee game, and stock some for your bug in or out situation, check out Freedom Roasters Coffee. Every order is fresh roasted within in 24 hours.
