Well here we are, it's Friday, and I for one am glad to have made it through another week of some touchy subjects at the water cooler.
When I started to right this email, I had no idea where I wanted to go. Would I go the political route, because lord knows there's plenty to talk about, or would I go with the somewhat more safe route and talk about hurricane Sally, or maybe go the COVID 19 route, seeing how that doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.
Sadly, everything, even a hurricane can be made political these days. So I'll go with the firestorm of politics, and what it means for us in the preparedness community.
One thing us preppers have always prided ourselves in is, well being prepared. Prepared for many things, natural or man made disasters, terrorists attacks, heck even martial law. But something that many of us probably overlooked, at least until a few months ago, was full on civil war.
If this country falls into a civil war, it will most definitely be much different than before. We are divided on so many issues, it's hard to say what we'd be fighting over or for. Our country is fighting daily over politics, religion, race, sexuality, and who knows what else.
So how do you prepare for that?
My best advice is to prepare as you would for any other disaster. Start with your food, water and shelter. If we're at war from within, chances are you aren't going anywhere. It will be a bug in situation before it's time to bug out. I mean, unless you have secured a place far away from cities, both large and small, you'd be better off just hunkering down, and riding out the storm. Unless it gets so bad that your shelter is in danger.
You can never have too much food or water stored, and the more secure your shelter the longer it will protect you and your family.

Which is the route I take, because I'm not a cook. My wife on the other hand, she can look in a half bare pantry and whip something right up.
