How a 5 second dm turned into a deal: access to a 40k targeted list.

Hi ,
Just before writing this, I made a deal.

If I hadn’t this would’ve been a different message.
What kind of access?
A niche email list of those interested in diabetes.
Buyers?
Not sure yet.
That’s part of the deal we made.
We’re gonna try a little somethin’.
Why’d they even entertain this exercise?
Well…
Part of it has to do with past dealings (reputation), understanding the importance
of keeping in touch (top of mind awareness)...
…but the other catch…
The list isn’t active at the mo.
It needs to be revitalized.
No idea if I can do it, but…
If I can, and if I can get them to say yes to an offer, I’ll take a percentage.
40% of every sale.
Not the worst way to start my day.
Obvs, this didn’t work YET, and it might turn out to be a complete nothing burger,
BUT…!
Which would you rather…
Run paid ads to see if you can make your offer work or…
Just make an offer to a large targeted audience that already showed interest in
the topic?
If you’ve got the green to burn, paid ads are awesome.
But why do it if you don’t have to?
If you already have access to the audience, why wouldn’t you just make them a kickass offer and see what happens?
Make do with what you have.
That’s what leverage is all about.
If you can make MORE from what you have...
That’s the key to ADDING VALUE.
While everyone out here peddling “I’ll get you more leads,” or “I’ll write your
funnel,” that’s cool…
I’m trying a different route…
“Let’s see if we can’t combine our resources and get us more paper together.
Interested?”
That’s not verbatim, but that’s the gist.
Actually, I’m not even the one who even made the initial offer.
The opportunity came about as the chat unfolded.
No reason you can’t do the same thing.
The key is to start with a form of leverage…
Like opening conversations.
