Accept the challenges so that you may feel

"Accept the challenges so that you may feel the exhilaration of victory." - General George S. Patton

Speaking of challenges - don't forget to submit your entry in the short story contest. Not to exceed 350 words and must include a Halloween story featuring an interesting monster/ghost OR a cursed Halloween treat? The deadline is October 16 - so with any luck I can announce the winner(s) in the November 1 newsletter. I've received a couple entries already. You'll want to read them! Choice of my autographed paperback or an ebook to the winner(s).

You already know about my 3 short stories accepted in September - one of them, "Freedom on Wheels" will come out in the Road Trippin' anthology from Raconteur Press on October 4.

I've just submitted another short story--as I've decided to accept the challenges of writing more short stories this year. My boys' novel has progressed to chapter 4. Bugs in the System is sitting patiently, waiting for me to give it the final once-over before I publish it. The short story deadlines and the move from one side of the state to the other have delayed and distracted me from doing that.

I've got an 850 word sword and sorcery story I've thought about putting directly into a newsletter, but it may be better to simply put it on my website with a link in the newsletter.

I just finished a read of the last half of Treasure Island, and I'm over half-finished with Sabatini's The Black Swan. Yes, I do have pirate themes on my mind.
