Ever heard of a semi vacation?

Probably not... because I just invented that word! (okay, it's 2 words 🙄)

But why the hell did I invent a word now?

Because I'm currently on a semi vacation and I needed a word for it.

You may have heard the word 'workation' (work + vacation) but to me, that sounds like too much work & too little vacation. Not fun.

What I'm currently doing is working roughly 3 hours per day and enjoying the rest of the day relaxing, sleeping, reading, drinking wine and going to the beach.

Wait, did someone say 'going to the beach'?

That's right -- I'm in Italy, so I often go to the beach in the afternoon.

Sometimes with friends, other times with family and occasionally alone.

A semi vacation can be really fun because you're mostly doing what you want, but also keeping the money flowing in by working at least a little to cover the expenses.

Of course, working at all while on a vacation can be a pain in the ass, but it's a good trade-off in my mind.

This is really important for self-employed people like myself. That's why I sometimes avoid going on vacations... because not just am I not earning money, but I'm also spending my savings.

That's the complete opposite of what you should do if you plan to retire wayyy early -- but hey, you only live once, right?

All this brings me to the most important question in this email: Are you going on any semi vacations, and where?
