I will consider myself successful when …

imageHi there

I will consider myself successful when … what?

This is a question that has vexed me somewhat recently.

I have just re-started the second draft of the second book of my Fae DNA urban fantasy series and I am seeking representation for Book One - Habnab. I'm getting a few nibbles, but nothing to write about!

Some say that happiness is only served by the universe in small doses. The sensation of drinking hot chocolate sitting in your favourite chair while wearing your dragon-toed slippers is akin to the happiness you might feel upon selling your one millionth book.

So according to some, the secret to happiness is to treat small moments of happiness as though they are as important as the big ones.

Expanding on the connection between success and happiness, I will state a more modest goal than selling one million books as my benchmark for achieving success as an author.

I will consider myself successful when ... twenty thousand people read Habnab and go on to read Slippery Identity.

Now then – you will consider yourself successful when …

Do tell me. I read every reply.
