Two More Residency Programs Die A Painful Death

Feb 17, 2023 5:47 pm

As some of you may have heard, Portugal will indeed be cancelling their current Golden Visa program.

I have suspected this would happen for a while now as the writing was on the wall.

Brussels has been increasingly aggressive to any type of investment-based residency or citizenship programs over the last few years and, piece by piece, has bullied EU members into dismantling their programs.

This week's second program to get the executioner's axe was Ireland’s residency by investment program. This one was a little more shocking as the decision was announced and took effect by the close of business the following day.

Luckily any of our clients that had signed the contracts and started the process will be grandfathered in, and their applications will be honoured.

But people who delayed lost out.

And really, that is what I want to talk to you about today.

As Portugal and Ireland both clearly show, these programs don’t exist forever.

They can change at the drop of a hat, and if you have been sitting on the fence, humming and hawing if you should move forward, the program could be cancelled by the time you decide.

And then you will get nothing.

More than that, and I suppose the point I want to drive home more than anything, is that you need to move the ball downfield towards freedom.

Some people worry so much about getting everything “perfect” that they do nothing.

Trying to find the perfect residency or perfect passport, or perfect government.

Well, I am here to tell you that these things don’t exist.

You have to make decisions that will bring you closer to freedom.

And here is the most important piece, so pay attention... you then need to stack these freedoms one on top of another to make sure you are truly protected.

In today’s day and age, it’s not about perfect. It’s about as many quality options as we can get; because it’s impossible to tell what will happen in the future.

That’s why on the 25th of February, I will be doing a 3-hour-long virtual workshop with my colleagues about citizenship by investment in the Caribbean.

We will discuss how to get a second passport in 2023 and really how to bring you and your family closer to freedom with viable solutions that can be had immediately.

This will be an A-to-Z look at everything related to citizenship in the Caribbean.

  • Why 2023 is a make-or-break year for securing a new passport
  • How citizenship by investment works and how it fits into a solid internationalization plan
  • Why the Caribbean is the region to look at in 2023
  • What countries offer citizenship, what are the benefits, and what are the downside risks
  • Where you can live, travel, invest, bank, and do business with your new citizenship
  • How to manage timelines, filing, costs, and bureaucratic challenges
  • How not to fall into a tax trap
  • What are the pitfalls with your application, and how to ensure your paperwork goes smoothly with as little wasted time or nerve-wracking stress
  • How you can save over $25,000 USD on your investment by applying this year for another citizenship

This is a must-attend workshop if you have been considering getting a second passport.

I am not charging my subscribers to attend. However, there is a max number of attendees allowed on the software.

And to be honest, we always max out our registrations for our webinars and workshops.
