Is Trump Starting a Credit Card Company?
Sep 26, 2025 12:06 pm
This one had me doing a double-take.
U.S. President Donald Trump just announced a new three-tiered immigration program, and I swear, it reads more like a credit card rollout than actual policy.
You’ve got the Gold Card, which grants U.S. Permanent Residency (and all the taxes associated with it....)
Then there's the Corporate Gold Card, which allows companies to buy a transferable $2 million slot per employee.
And then there's the Platinum Card, priced at a cool $5 million, which doesn't actually grant residency, but allows up to 270 days/year in the United States without paying taxes on foreign-sourced income.
That's a lot of hype, and a lot of dollars...
But if you've been following me for any length of time, you already know you can build a much stronger international Plan-B for a fraction of the cost.
Instead of sending millions to the U.S. government, you could be planting flags all around the world, all while acquiring hard assets along the way.
Permanent residency here in Panama can be easily acquired for a $350,000 real estate investment (not a "gift," unlike with Trump's tiered system).
A $250,000 investment will get you a full citizenship in St. Kitts & Nevis.
Argentina recently announced its $500,000 Citizenship by Investment program,
which could allow you to add one of the world's strongest passports to your collection once it's launched.
For less than the price of one Trump "Platinum Card", you could set yourself up with multiple residencies, second citizenships, and a portfolio of international real estate, all working together to protect your wealth and freedom.
And that's before we ask if this policy will even hold up...
I was in a group chat with a few lawyer friends this week, and they were laughing.
They said the tax code alignment alone makes this a legal minefield.
One of them called it “EB-5 on steroids—with none of the structure.”
The bottom line: there are simpler, smarter, and proven ways to legally lower your tax burden and enhance your global mobility without having to send multi-million-dollar "gifts" to the United States government.
I encourage you to explore them.
Speak soon,
Mikkel
