Scandinavia, who would have thunk it

I never thought I would say this but Scandinavia has been a bastion of freedom during covid.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a tax hell trap.

But it's now been over 1 week since Norway removed all restrictions.

Everything is open. No masks. No covid passports. No social distancing rules.

There have been 0 covid deaths in Norway in the last 6 days.

Sweden has removed pretty much all covid restrictions and life is normal there.

Denmark has no restrictions and no QR codes or special passports, my friends there tell me life is excellent.

Why is Scandinavia removing all restrictions and places like Canada and the USA have gone the opposite direction?

Why has Australia returned to a penal colony?

They have opened the floodgates for human capital to flow to new expat destinations. It’s one thing when money leaves these shores, you can attract it back with things like tax incentives or easing business restrictions.

But people move their whole families, they make a new social circle, they move on with their lives.

And 99% of the time the people prefer it abroad, they don’t want to come back.

But the biggest challenge I have seen with families moving abroad is their kids’ education, it was the one sticking point most families struggled with.

No one knew how to handle it.

It’s why we created Expat International School, it solves these problems.
