The collapse of the internet?

This morning I was interviewed on another podcast to discuss my opinions on investing in the current market conditions.

It’s a topic near and dear to my heart.

I spent years speculating in the derivatives market, mostly leveraged to the hilt and selling options contracts like iron condors, strangles and my favourite, a simple short straddle.

All-day long I would sell short straddles, collecting premiums and pulling in a nice income from it.

For me to be good at this I was constantly gauging volatility in the market and trying to anticipate the direction that things would go, and how far they would go.

I would like to think I was pretty decent at it during my 7 years of trading.

Eventually, I left because that was not the life for me, staring at numbers all night long (I was living in the middle east at the time so the market was in a completely different time zone) was just not what I wanted to do with my life.

But those same skills of predicting markets have served me well in other avenues of business.

These days I see massive trends in technology, and I am not talking about the FANG stocks that actually worry me quite a bit...

More things like digital security, reverse hacking and protecting the internet. As we discussed in a recent podcast episode with my friend Swen Lorenz, I believe we will have different internets around the world with one going to war with the other.

There will be a complete fracturing of the internet as we know it and it will become too dangerous of a battleground for most people to play in.

It could lead to a complete collapse of the internet as we know it.

It’s one of the reasons I have invested so much in security for my own business this year, I can see the dangers that are out there.

And from an investor’s point of view, I am looking at how I can profit off of it.
