Surgery teaches me a lesson

Nov 25, 2021 5:01 pm

On Monday I had to take my son to the hospital for surgery.

Don’t worry, he is safe.

I was scared as hell sitting in the waiting room wondering if my baby will be okay, my mind was going in so many terrible directions.

Maybe if you are a parent you know what I mean.

And they would only let one parent go inside, so my wife took him in and I stayed outside by myself.

So we couldn’t comfort each other.

Surgery was scheduled for 7 am and we were up around 4:30 am. It was rough because my son had to fast for at least 8 hours before the surgery and you can’t exactly explain to a 6-month-old what is going on and why he is not allowed to have any milk.

Sufficed to say it was not an easy night.

The hospital staff and the doctors were amazing, we really do have good facilities here in Panama City, and thank god I learned how to speak Spanish.

It was a hard enough thing to go through in a language I can actually understand, I can’t imagine going through that if I hadn’t started studying Spanish 2 years ago.

Maybe it’s the reason I push my subscribers so hard to learn the local language of the country they are in (or planning on going to).

You really have no idea what can happen.

And speaking the local language really does show a lot of personal responsibility.

I would even go as far as to say this is one of the best ways to protect yourself and your family overseas.

Anyways, it’s not that hard to learn a new language and really anyone can do it, you just need to put in a little effort and follow a quality program.

This week my friend Olly Richards is offering his language courses at a massive discount, you have no excuse not to get started, I promise you it is a good idea to learn the local language.

Literally, look at what just happened to my family...
