Learning the local language of the country you are moving to is one of the smartest things you can do as an expat.
Not only does it show a ton of respect to the local people but you will have a much richer experience when you get there.
The secret though is to start learning today...
...not after you arrive.
Because by then, you will have fallen into the "expat bubble trap" which is so common.
It's when you only make friends with other expats and never get that deeper, more meaningful, cultural experience.
Trust me, in my 22+ years being an expat I have seen it many times...
