If You're In Europe, I Hope You Love Taxes
Jul 25, 2025 12:26 pm
I never have to worry about whether or not I'm going to run out of reasons to talk anyone into leaving Europe.
It goes like this: I pull out my phone, visit any major news outlet, and just like that, another reason appears.
I don't need to spend tons of money on TV ads or massive billboards when elected leaders and bureaucrats seem to do all my marketing for me.
Case in point: The EU has proposed a tax on businesses with a turnover above € 100 million to fill the coffers for its next seven-year behemoth of a budget.
And how much do they need to fund their budget? Oh, just a measly 2 trillion euros.
The scheme goes like this: propose an insane budget and then immediately attempt to push all those taxes onto “greedy businesses”, which then pass the costs onto the consumer.
If you're currently in Europe and think your cost-of-living is high now, don’t expect day-to-day life to get any cheaper if this proposal passes.
And what does the EU need all this money for exactly?
This very same budget proposal doubles military aid to Ukraine, while drastically boosting the EU’s own military spending.
EU leadership seems intent on funding Project Ukraine into eternity, promising Ukrainian President Zelensky billions and billions in funding for the ongoing war with Russia.
It’s disheartening that EU leadership has decided to escalate tensions, but it appears that this is the chosen strategy for addressing the growing discontent among their populations, as European economies are stagnating and crime rates continue to rise.
If you’re one of the many Europeans who’ve seen the writing on the wall and are seeking an exit strategy, I strongly encourage you to read this important letter.
Speak soon,
Mikkel
