Brutal Week in the World of Immigration
Jul 27, 2023 11:31 pm
It has been a rough week or two in our industry and for any individuals seeking mobility unmolested around the world.
First, the UK removed visa-free access for Dominica and Vanuatu, two popular CBI countries.
Then the EU issued a statement saying that Canadians and Americans (as well as many other countries) are going to require a visa to enter Europe starting in 2024 (they say it's not a visa, but it's pretty much a visa).
And at 12 o'clock noon today, St Kitts came out with a bunch of massive changes to their citizenship by investment program and took it from a $125k USD donation to doubling it now to a $250k USD donation. As well as added a bunch of horrible extras that will not help keep anyone safe.
The overall trend in the world is that we are all losing our ability to travel freely, and programs are being cancelled, increasing drastically in price, or the paperwork is getting 10x more difficult and cumbersome.
I expect to see the remaining 4 CBI countries in the Caribbean come forth with statements to a similar tune as St Kitts in the next few days.
For those who have been sitting on the fence over the last year, what is happening now is terrible news, and your options are now drastically reduced.
And those who listened to me and we secured you a second residency or passport, then I bet you are glad you took action; as I said to everyone before, as long as the programs are legal, I will help you through them, once they change, there is nothing I can do...
Anyways, the blood bath that is happening in the immigration world will continue. I will be keeping all of my Private Clients up to date in real-time as things progress, and I will help them navigate it the best possible.
