The Weekly Recap
Aug 20, 2021 3:01 pm
Dear Reader,
So it's our last ten days here in Brazil before heading home to Panama, wow, six months went by fast! We still have not been able to finalize our residency here, we have some leads on how we can make it happen before we go, but it is certainly not a certainty. I love this country, I really do, but the bureaucracy is insane! They blame covid, I blame the government...
It's a shame because my family and I should be exactly the type of people they should be looking to attract; well-to-do, willing to learn the language and incorporate ourselves into the community, and of course, spend our money and invest here. But we can't get an appointment at the Federal Police for a 60-minute meeting to sign our documents (that have all been submitted and accepted online) before we leave.
Why can't I just stay more than 6 months? We have hit the max amount of time with our tourist visa and have already taken our visa extension. What a shame... Looks like I will have to pick this up next year. At least we have received my son's Brazilian passport so he is good to travel.
Anyways, enough of that, just thought I would quickly share an update on what is happening with us, let's get into this week's content!

I currently am using Google-Fi on one of my older phones with my number but the bill averages between $80-110 per month. I don’t get to use my newer iPhone 12 Pro as Google-Fi isn’t compatible.
