Random thoughts after a massive Summit

Oct 14, 2024 11:26 am

Hey everyone,

Last week's Summit was a massive success; thank you to everyone who joined us.

The feedback from the Summit has been excellent. Tons of people are taking action and getting in touch with our presenters about the different projects and investments overseas, so that's excellent.

But for me, I am on to the next big project.

I was planning on sleeping for a week after the event, but of course, I am too hyper for that. There is too much going on in the world to sit back and relax.

To be honest, I could ride off into the sunset tomorrow and never want for money again, but I do this work because I feel I'm on a mission to help people through the messed-up situation we see in the Western world.

I do this work because it's necessary, but I also do it because it scratches a certain itch in my brain...

It's complex with a lot of moving pieces, which I find engaging; it's super technical but at the same time, extremely creative. And I don't know, I just get a lot of satisfaction from helping people and find it very rewarding.

My favourite moment is when I see a client start to relax and feel confident again about their future.

You have to understand, people come to me with a massive amount of stress and anxiety about what is happening in the world.

And slowly, call after call, as we take action and get their Plan-B in place, they start to relax. The world doesn't seem so scary anymore. Their shoulders start to drop, and they smile again.

This is cool; I love it.

Most of my clients become friends for life. I have clients from nearly a decade ago who I still speak to on a regular basis and who consult with me when they need to discuss important matters.

Knowing that people rely on me and feel comfortable coming to me for the most important decisions in their lives makes me want to do more and give more. It also makes me want to constantly improve myself so that I can be of better service to my clients.

To this day, after a full day of work, I continue to study for 3 hours every night to be of more value to my clients.

When you take this attitude out over decades, it's very powerful.

As most of you know, I stopped going to school when I was 12 years old.

Some people would call me "uneducated." And maybe they're right...

I'm a dyslexic who never finished high school after all.

My "education" is not because I heard some teacher say something in front of a classroom; I'm not just repeating someone else's thoughts...

It's from 25 years of continuous travel exploring the world, asking a hell of a lot of questions of everyone I met, and constant study reading thousands of books in my life (not bad for a dyslexic, eh?).

Anyways, I'm just reflecting on my work and life and want to reconfirm my commitment to providing you with the best insights, advice, and services in the expat and offshore niche anywhere in the world.

Thanks for being part of our Community; I am happy to have you with us.

Speak soon,

Mikkel
