The World's Elite Have Their Plan B...Do You?
Sep 01, 2025 12:07 pm
Since last week's email about Mark Zuckerberg’s doomsday compound in Hawaii, I’ve gone down a bit of a rabbit hole on this topic.
Turns out Zuck isn’t the only billionaire in the bunker-building business.
Many of the world’s richest elites have been quietly diverting massive amounts of their wealth into bunkers designed for scenarios straight out of a sci-fi movie.
And we’re not just talking about a couple of silos stocked with food and water.
We’re talking about energy- and food-independent, luxury bug-out locations—designed to support long-term survival off the grid.
OpenAI founder Sam Altman casually described a bunker in his home as one of those “heavy reinforcement basements,” and mentioned that one of his immediate fears is an oncoming war between nations.
PayPal founder Peter Thiel got a New Zealand passport back in 2017 to build a bunker-style home (though the government blocked the project).
And they’re not the only ones. The list of bunker-builders reads like a who’s who of the rich and powerful, including Bill Gates, Tom Cruise, and more.
The speculation is entertaining. But here’s what really matters:
The most connected and wealthiest people in the world are diverting resources to their own Plan-B.
They’re buying land, building bunkers, and securing off-grid compounds to prepare for worst-case scenarios.
And it’s not just bombs they’re worried about.
OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever allegedly told staff he'd protect the company’s best minds inside a bunker if AI triggered global collapse.
The elite are worried about the historic global events unfolding now—and what could be just beyond the horizon.
But let’s be honest, if the world goes sideways, you’re not getting an invite to their bunkers.
That’s why I focus on helping freedom-minded individuals like you build real, sovereign Plan-Bs… before the need becomes obvious.
The world’s most powerful people have their escape plans…
Speak soon,
Mikkel
PS. You and I might not have a doomsday bunker like Mark Zuckerberg, but we do have options. This week, we’re launching our official Off-Grid Plan-B newsletter to show you that there are very real alternatives out there for you not just to live independently and off-grid, but to do so comfortably. Even if you’re slightly curious, sign up today so when the first edition goes live, you’ll be among the first to receive it.
