This link goes directly to the webpage where you can join the wait-list to attend the many presentations as they are being held which will be free access. You can also buy a VIP pass to be able to access for a whole year. There are an amazing number of international speakers including my interview with Dr Guimberteau and my presentation about taping scars..
Ink tattoos and tape.
I have never liked applying tape to tattoos because we do not know what the effect of increasing blood-flow to this skin area could be. We have discussed this in many courses. Having read more on the topic since I think it wise to CHECK THE TATTOO carefully for any skin changes at all. If changes are present, send back to the doctor, ask for a skin biopsy and definitely DO NOT TAPE or apply electrodes to the area.
An article on Medscape ([email protected]) called 'Tattoos may be risk factors malignant lymphoma', triggered me to bring this to your attention here.
Take away from this study: The prevalence of tattoos was 21% among cases and 18% among controls. After adjustment for confounding factors, tattooed participants had a 21% higher risk for overall lymphoma than non-tattooed participants (incidence rate ratio = 1.21; 95% CI, 0.99-1.48).
The highest risks of around 30% were found for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (incidence rate ratio = 1.30; 95% CI, 0.99-1.71) and follicular lymphoma (incidence rate ratio = 1.29; 95% CI, 0.92-1.82) in tattooed vs non-tattooed individuals. No evidence was found that the risk for lymphoma increased with a larger area of total tattooed body surface.
Wishing you all a wonderful coming weeks and I look forward to seeing you at the Summit.
