👚To Tuck or Not to Tuck?

Hi ,
👚To Tuck or Not to Tuck?
Struggling with whether to tuck your shirt? With the rise of wider pants, long, loose tops that once worked with skinny jeans can now feel off. Here's how to decide if tucking is for you:
Volume Balance: Avoid pairing two voluminous pieces. Stick to one fitted and one loose for a balanced look.
Silhouette Matters:
- No defined waist? The H, O or some V shapes have this challenge. Avoid tucking as it only emphasizes the undefined waist. Or try tucking and blousing the top for a softer waist illusion and to hide a belt.
- Tucking in works well if you have a defined waist but consider how it affects your overall proportions.
Body Proportions
- Short Torso, long legs: Blouse tops over pants or wear a matching belt to your top to elongate the torso.
- Long Torso, short legs: Tucking can lengthen legs, especially with a belt the same colour as your pants.
- Short midsections: Blouse tops or match belt and top colour to elongate torso.
Dressing in Thirds:
- We look best when dressed in thirds versus equal proportions. The example below illustrates why. The shirt is too long for me and creates a 50/50 ratio of top to bottom. Can you see how it adds visual weight and looks frumpy? Tucking in is the perfect solution.
