Happy Canada Day!Â
What an incredible country we have from coast to coast!
I've just returned from a wonderful three-week driving vacation through the beautiful Maritime Provinces. With national pride stronger than ever and more Canadians choosing to explore their own backyard, there's never been a better time to discover all that our country has to offer. We truly have so much to see and appreciate right here at home.
We explored my home province of New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Cape Breton, and spent a week with family - being fed like royalty and catching up with loved ones. There's nothing quite like going home!
As every seasoned traveler knows, no matter how carefully you plan your vacation wardrobe, Mother Nature always seems to have other ideas! I packed two pairs of long pants, two pairs of 3/4 length, and two pairs of shorts, but the cooler coastal weather meant I wore only one pair of shorts. Long pants were the better choice-and they also happened to hide my compression socks! đ. After driving 3,000 kms, those socks made a huge difference in keeping my legs comfortable.
The two travel capsules I'm sharing show how versatile a well-planned wardrobe can be. Although I packed two different colour families, several tops worked beautifully with both capsules, creating lots of outfit options including a few golf outfits and a rain poncho (that I never travel without!). Best of all, everything fit into one medium-sized checked suitcase that I had to keep organized at all times because we changed beds 12 times over the course of the trip!
This trip was another reminder that smart packing isn't about bringing more-it's about bringing versatile pieces that work together and being prepared for whatever the weather decides to do. Check out my best packing tips from a previous newsletter here: My Best Packing Tips
