Many of you might not know this, but I won the Silver Medal for piano when I was 15. And, even better, Judi and Robin (FITFAM members) was my piano teacher.
What does that have to do with health and wellness?
We are making music with our lives. The notes we place down, the tempo that is sometmes allegro (fast, quick....like Tabata and Metcon) and sometimes forte (strong, powerful...like our STRONG classes, the "rest" notes - the intentional pauses we put into place - from mini-syphonies.
But how did I get the Silver Medal?
I practiced.
A lot.
Playing piano still touches a part of me that started when I was 9 years old. I am sure you all have your own "joy" (our sixth pillar) devices - Lisa Kent sings, Danielle Carbonneau dances. And when we look at our fitness, nutrition and recovery - the three first pillars or our program, and the foundation of our lives - sometimes we get the notes "right" and sometimes we need more practice
Which bring us to MARCH! March, in health circles, is Nutrition month. I would love to focus on starting to gear up towards a healthier, less "hibernating" form of eating - think lots of fresh vegetables, and inspiring food choices that FUEL your body, workout and life.
We are also going to focus this month on getting stronger. After spending a week in Montreal with Matrix, my company, I realized that I am strong - but can be stronger. So can you.
What does that mean for our program?
