Hello,

I can't believe summer is already ending! As usual, it flew past and I'm forced to accept that many of my grand plans will have to be pushed to next summer.

But that doesn't include my writing and publishing goals! It will soon be time to start looking for volunteer beta readers for The Ordeals of Ornland...

Before I publish book 3, I plan to launch new covers and blurbs for books 1 and 2. The covers are not ready, but when they are, I will share them with you first! The blurbs, on the other hand, are ready. Read on to get your first taste of what is coming in book 3. I'd love to hear any and all feedback that you might have on these. Just hit reply and tell me what you think!

Book 1: The Conquest of Kiynan

The world of Kiynan erupts into war on all fronts.

An ancient Conjurer escapes from his imprisonment in the spirit world. Bent on revenge, he raises an army of demons draped in stolen flesh and bones.

An uneasy alliance of magicians is formed to oppose him, but they soon realize that even with their might combined, it will not be enough to survive the coming storm. In desperation, they seek help from distant, long-alienated kin. Among them is Kayla Freeland, a young woman who may be the key to unlocking the long-forgotten magic of the fallen House Calm, perhaps the only means of stopping the Conjurer and his endless minions.

Far to the West, a barbarian High King launches an invasion without warning. Old rivalries are reignited and alliances tested as nobles and commoners alike are thrown into chaos. A young, naïve King and a conscripted thief find themselves forced to work together to survive.

As kingdoms fall, the unlikely heroes must overcome fear, loss and remorse to unite fragmented armies and feuding magicians against their merciless enemies.

Book 2: The Legacy of Lethe

The past is forgotten, but not gone.

The magical, inhuman Lethean Empire erupts into civil war as a bold idealist challenges the stagnant doctrine of their rulers. His Iconoclast movement struggles desperately against the brutal theocrats to win freedom and lead their people to a glorious new destiny.

Five thousand years later, war is brewing again among the humans. A young prince must embrace his responsibilities and follow in his father’s footsteps to keep the peace. But the discovery of a mysterious, ancient artifact abruptly alters the balance of power.

Kayla Freeland’s prophetic sight shows her an approaching, worldwide apocalypse. The devastating threat is somehow connected to the artifact, to hidden elemental forces and to the long-vanished civilization of the Letheans. Racing against time, she assembles an expedition to delve into the past and solve the riddle of her visions before it is too late.

Book 3: The Ordeals of Ornland

Forced to choose between friendship and destiny.

Cadvin is destined to become the greatest Augur to have ever lived. When he is selected for training over his childhood friends, he vows to help them learn magic, despite the law. When they discover that their aptitudes lie in reviving ancient, forbidden magic, Cadvin is forced to walk the line between duty and loyalty. His closest friend, Daimin, refuses to stand idly by as the oppressive theocracy would have him live in secrecy and shame. Nothing in Cadvin’s visions can prepare him for the impending confrontation.

Thousands of years later, a young student of Kayla Freeland discovers he has an aptitude for forbidden magic. Refusing to deny his newly found identity, he goes on the run to escape the unforgiving magicians bent on enforcing the ancient law. His only hope at acceptance is the desperate search for the truth that was buried along with Cadvin and Daimin so long ago.

I can't wait to hear from you!

Take care!
