Between the Pages

As for many of us, this was a quiet holiday break, with enforced breaks from our usual routines. I strolled to the local beach on Christmas Eve, and I wasn’t the only one. The following scene, taken as sunset approached, shows a typical Christmas scene for this time of year.

Christmas Scene Down Under

My son and I spent a quiet day, but the weather was fine and lunch at a local restaurant located on the edge of a marina was perfect. I managed to catch up with a few friends in the evening, still observing the limitations on the number of people who could gather in a private home.

Maison Angelique

This raunchy romp has a new cover. In part, that’s because Amazon would not permit me to promote the previous cover, and in part because I felt the new cover is a better representation of the story.

 It’s different in style and content to the Red Centre Series, and if explicit sex scenes are not your style, this book probably isn’t for you. It was fun to write though and I enjoyed watching the development of Angela, the main character. Due to financial necessity, she became Angelique, someone who euphemistically delivered ‘Executive Coaching” to men of substantial financial means.

Aside from her work, she has a lifestyle to which many would aspire. Life wasn’t meant to be easy (as the politician once said) and nor was it for Angela. If you want to know how she dealt with the curved balls sent her way, it’s discounted on the US Amazon site until Friday, 7 January.

Harrow Series

I'm one step closer to publishing this series as I have finished and reviewed the manuscript for the third book. It will be sent to my editor shortly. The big challenge has been finding appropriate titles for each of the stories, and then confirming the covers. I think I have the titles right now, and will be talking to the cover artist shortly.

Am I excited about this? Absolutely. Watch this space.

Read Any Good Books Lately?

Christmas to me always means taking some time out to do some reading. This year, I’ve been solidly working on the writing, but still trying to fit the writing in – often when I go to bed or sometimes reading for a while early in the morning. There are several street libraries near me, and they are always good if I’m looking for something different. I’m currently reading Spa Decameron by Fay Weldon, describing the life stories of twelve women who find themselves at a remote health spa over Christmas. The characters are from diverse spheres of life, but all have some interesting tales or lessons to impart, involving betrayal, sexual shenanigans and Machiavellian mayhem.
