Between the Pages

Hi

Only two days left before we see out 2022. I, for one, am looking forward to 2023 - new year, new starts, and all that.

I will release a book in the new Sandy Bay Series shortly. If you have previously read Secrets in Sandy Bay (novella length), you will have had an introduction to the coastal town. The next book is almost finished and another is on the way.

That leads onto a question I have. In the back matter of the books I release, I usually include the first chapter of the subsequent book in the series, or if it is a stand-alone title, then the first chapter of a different book.

Do you read that first chapter, and do you like to see it included? I have read one comment that it can be confusing for the reader because when they look at the next book on a retailer's website, they cannot remember if they've actually read the book or not.

Do you read that additional chapter, and is it of benefit to you? Let me know by emailing here.

Fiendish Fury

Meet Tessa Fury: accidental bounty hunter of all things supernatural, dangerous, and outside the law.

Twelve years ago, the supernatural world revealed itself to the rest of us. Vampires, werewolves, fairies—all real.

Twelve hours ago, I accidentally took a job as a supernatural bounty hunter, tracking down the worst of the things that go bump in the night.

And twelve minutes ago, I’m pretty sure I died.

I had absolutely zero plans to become a monster hunter.

I got okey-doked into it. You know—those times when a friend is outlining a plan for the day and you’re just going along with it like an idiot, saying yes to everything…right up to the moment you realize you’ve just said “okey-doke” to going after a feral werewolf with nothing but a butcher knife and a Tootsie Pop in your pocket.

If I survive this werewolf hunt, I’m changing jobs.

Maybe.

It just pays so damn much…

If I catch the bad guys.

And assuming I live through the night.

If you can't get enough of books by Patricia Briggs, Ilona Andrews, Kelly St. Claire, Annette Marie, Shannon Mayer, Leia Stone, Jaymin Eve, and Linsey Hall, then you'll love this urban fantasy, paranormal mystery adventure series. Download here.

Death Maker

by J C McKenzie

Death is a terrible power to wield…

Most people think my life as a certified necromancer is filled with raising the dead to resolve estate disputes and making the rich richer. And they’re not wrong. But I’ve added illegal raisings and consulting with the police to my résumé.

Normally, I ask the recently departed “whodunit” for the cops, but in a recent string of gruesome killings, the dead aren’t helping. And while the souls are silent, the vampires won’t shut up. They think I’m the key to solving their problems. To complicate matters, I also keep getting sucked into the veil—the magical realm where spirits rest and a mysterious castle keeps appearing.

All I want in life is to do my job, help my mom pay her medical bills and not murder a certain arrogant detective. But if I don’t figure out how the murders, the veil and the vampires are connected, all while keeping my less-than-legal activities from the cops, I might go from making sacrifices to becoming one.

A deliciously dark Urban Fantasy tale with a flawed necromancer trying to survive a harsh world by International Bestselling Author, J. C. McKenzie. Download here.

**A Second Chance, Small Town Romance**

I was mortified. I ran away because I couldn't face the embarrassment of what took place at the party. Now he's back in the picture and I don't think I can face him.

Will he remember who I am?

SAM

Sam Ellis was not your average Sutton Hill resident. The quaint, coastal town known for its sunshine, crystal clear water, and waspy, upper-class residents. No one was more unfitting than Sam.

Sam used to live a fast life: the exotic cars, big house, women that threw themselves at him but when asked to take over his father's estate all he wanted to do was be left alone.

JAMIE

A little rough around the edges, Jamie never had the best luck. After years of playing venues with her bandmates, she met Sam, entrepreneur and high-profile member of the Sutton Hill Country Club. After crossing paths, Jamie could not get Sam out of her head.

Would Jamie be enough for the hot billionaire who already had everything?

AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is an HEA story with no cliff-hangers! For mature audiences only, must be over 18 years of age!

Please also note this is a rerelease and rebranding on an improved newer edition. This book is an extended version with more content, new cover, and a preview of Book #2 in the Serendipity series: Twelve Weeks. Download here.

I hope you meet the New Year with joy, peace in your heart, and good friends by your side.
