Between the Pages

Hi

For those readers in Australia, I hope you are keeping cool. I think it was over 41 decrees C today (105.8F), which was a good reason to stay inside under the air-conditioning. I started the day with an early morning swim at the beach. The sea was calm (not a surfing beach) and the water was delightful. I followed up the swim with coffee at a local cafe. I'll try to remember to take a photo for my next swim.

I should have been writing, but instead caught up on some sewing that had been on my to-do list for ages. I now have new covers for my massage table, and a new pair of summer trousers. Next project is a beach poncho, enabling me to change out of wet bathers on the beach.

When I do try to write, I have a black and white friend who demands equal attention. Iris sleeps mostly through the day, but there are times when she says, 'Enough! Now give me some attention.'

Books now available from most distributors

Until recently, my books were only available via Amazon and Kindle Unlimited. That meant I was restricted from offering books for sale via Kobo, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, Google Books and other retailers, plus library sources.

I am progressively un-enrolling my books from Kindle Unlimited I can now use other distribution channels such as those companies listed above. There are still a couple of books tied up in Kindle Unlimited, but the rest are widely distributed. The books are still available through Amazon, but not under the Kindle Unlimited scheme.

Search on Emily Hussey at any of your preferred retailers to find my books.

Current Project

Although the books I commonly list in this newsletter are romances, the current work in progress is a city-based mystery story. Although there are romantic elements, they are a sub-plot rather than the main event. Skywalkers is a story that has been hovering for over ten years, and I'm excited to finally give it form on paper.

More details to come later.

But running away from your problems never works out for anyone. There’s a lot more waiting for him in the city than just catching the perfect wave and hanging out on beaches. As they say, love comes in the most unexpected way, and it’s about to change his life completely…

last choice, or anything in between.

I'm also used to failing, being forgotten

Broken. Dissatisfied. Lost

All it took was spilled rum and pineapple juice,

twenty seconds of courage,

for Sam to take my breath away.

Question is: Will he remember me?

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to meet up with your high school crush years later?

A short mildly steamy, feel good romance you can read in your lunchbreak.

Oliver Macfarlane, Megan’s older brother, is still as handsome and desirable as he was when Jennifer had her embarrassing crush on him in high school. Years later they are brought together again at Megan’s wedding. Only Jennifer is not the awkward teenage girl she was back then.

Are you interested in being a beta reader for future books?

A beta reader reads an early draft of a manuscript, and comments on issues, such as whether the plot was engaging, if there are any confusing plot holes, and whether the tension or conflict needs ramping up. This draft usually hasn't been through intensive editing. If you are interested in joining the beta team, email me at beta reader.

Note: you need to read the book and respond in a timely manner.

Kind regards
