It seems like all I have been doing lately is travel. Mid-August, I flew to Sydney to attend the Romance Writers' conference. (see previous newsletters). Last weekend, I flew back to Sydney to meet up with a young friend who was visiting from Japan. Years ago, she lived with myself and my son as a homestay student. Now she is an associate professor,and was speaking at a Sydney-based conference.

This coming Monday, I am setting off on a road trip with some friends on a whale chasing mission. We are heading to Fowlers Bay in the Great Australian Bight, where whales come to give birth to their calves before heading south towards Antarctica again. There will also be other sea creatures and birds to see, and the coastline, although remote, is spectacular. The trip will be roughly 900 kms (560 miles), so it is stretching out over a week as we explore along the route.

Who knows, I may come up with some new story-lines along the way.

It was late on a Friday afternoon, but was that any excuse?
