G'day,
Happy Easter!
What a beautiful reason to pause, remember, and celebrate the King of the universe Who gave Himself for us.
Life has been busy Down Under. We're preparing to sell our house and move to a new area, not to mention we're also getting ready for our sweet baby's arrival. But even in this season of change, I love that we can rest in the fact that God has us in His hands and He loves us so completely. He gave His Son so that we might have a relationship with Him. We do not have the type of Father who only connects with us at Christmas and Easter. No, He wants to be involved in every intricate detail of our lives. And in this season of uncertainty, I take incredible comfort in that. A fellow author, dear friend and sister in Christ shared the following passage with me and I meditate on it often in this season, remembering our God is with us. Always.
Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper, the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and He guided them to their desired haven.
Psalm 107:28-30 (NIV)
Writing Update
My writing has taken a strange turn the past few weeks. I've started writing some non-fiction outside of my blog. The idea came when I found myself asking some hard questions... of myself. Who was I as a homemaker? What did that word "homemaker" even mean? Was I going to continue to allow anxiety and frustration to dictate my behaviour? How could I cultivate peace within myself and within our home? From these questions, a quest began and a project was born with the working title Homemaker - a path toward peace, creativity, and mindfulness.
Not only that, but on the first day of autumn, while at the playground with my son, the Yellow Heart romance collection came into being. It began with ideas I considered random but somehow became increasingly clear when I found a lone yellow leaf in the shape of a love heart. That leaf felt like a confirmation from the Lord that I was on the right track, to embrace my Australian culture and to write love stories from a posture of gratitude and worship and with a heart to strengthen and inspire others.
Lost in Wonder will be the first historical romance in this collection and will be released in June. Here's a sneak peek at the cover!
God willing, this book will be followed by my contemporary work-in-progress, Blessedly Broken. Make sure you follow the writing journey on social media as I'll be sharing tidbits as I go :)
Aussie Fact - The EASTER Bilby
Yes, we do have Easter eggs and bunnies here in Australia, but we also have the Easter Bilby. In fact, the idea of the Easter Bilby was introduced about thirty years ago to raise awareness and funds to help keep bilbies from extinction. Rabbits were known to be wreaking havoc on the wildlife in Australia and the Easter Bilby became a significant alternative to the typical chocolate bunny. Now, you can purchase Easter Bilbies - like the Darrell Lea one we bought from Woolworths - that help support the Save the Bilby Foundation, a non-for-profit, non-government organisation supporting the National Breeding Program and Facility along with the National Recovery team.

Wren Finley would have been perfect... had she been a man.
Through miscommunication and mistaken identity, Wren assumes the pastoral role at Harenburg Hill only to discover she's not what the rural township of Brite ordered. Now she must fight not only for her place but for her safety and that of the congregation. Wren calls on the only two men she can trust - Jesus, and the one she left behind with a broken heart.
Wishing you all a blessed Easter!
Love & Prayers,
Liz x
