🗒️ Integrated Circuit (IC)

Today we see almost all electronic devices ( computers, cell phones, television, digital watches, cars) use IC due to its high reliability, small size, and efficiency.

  An integrated Circuit is just a packaged electronic circuit.

An IC is a complete electronic circuit in which both the passive and active components are fabricated on an extremely small single chip of silicon.

Active Component:- Component those which have the ability to produce Gain (output/input).

Examples are Transistors and FETs.

Passive Component:- Devices are those which do not have this ability.

🗒️ Types of Electrical Braking of DC Motor

Electrical property can also be used for the Braking of motors.

In many cases, Mechanical Breaking is not possible but electrical property can be used in these cases.

Also, Electrical braking has some advantages over Mechanical braking. There is no Maintained Cost like replaced brake shoes periodically. Fast response Cheap operating cost negligible heat production during operation as compared with the mechanical braking using Electrical braking the capacity of a system (like higher speed, heavy-duty) can be increased.

 Electrical braking is also preferred where frequent, quick, accurate, or emergency stops are required.

Traction is the most popular example of electrical braking. Types of Electrical braking of DC MotorRheostatic or Dynamic BrakingRheostatic or Dynamic Braking The first figure shows the Running condition of the DC shunt motor and the second figure shows the braking condition of the motors.

An armature of the shunt motor is disconnected from the supply when braking is applied to the motor and is connected across a variable resistance R.
