I love this photo of me reading THE TERRIFIED TROLL to my daughter Gaia for the first time. The story started back when her brother Dante was a tiny wee fella. When I did nothing with it, I thought the chance of doing a picture book had passed. Then Gaia came along, and I was drawn to the idea again, but this time I followed it up with artist Eva Byrne. It was a very special moment when, almost a decade after I'd first conceived the idea, I held a finished copy in my hand -- but not as special as the moment I read it to Gaia, who is still young enough to be captivated by it.
Eva and I hope to release the book through a traditional publisher in the nearish future, but to begin with we crowdfunded and created it as a limited edition of 500 copies. 26 of those were lettered, 24 were set aside as artist copies for myself and Eva, 250 were numbered, and 200 "extras" were unnumbered and most of them were marked with a small U to reflect that.
I have 50 of those unnumbered copies left in stock, and have decided to offer them to my followers at the price of €25 per copy. (The same price that people paid in the crowdfunder for a numbered copy.) These will probably be the last copies of the limited edition to be offered for sale (although I might make a few damaged copies available at a lower price a bit further down the line).
If YOU would like a copy, send an email with your name and address (don't forget to include what country you're from!) to [email protected]
You have until 11.59pm Irish time on Wednesday November 19th to send your email. If more than 50 of you look to purchase a copy, I will offer them to people in the order in which I receive the emails, i.e. the first copy will be offered to the first person who emailed me, the next to the second person who emailed, etc.
Please note, I will not be able to start sending out the books until the week beginning December 1st. Buyers SHOULD receive their copies before Christmas, but I can't guarantee that -- I just wanted to make that clear in case anyone is thinking of buying a copy as a Christmas present.
