A landmark day in the life of The Terrified Troll! (My first picture book for younger kids.)
After a LONG gestation period, including an unexpected delay when we realised that uploading our files was going to be a LOT more complicated than we're anticipated, Eva and I (with the help of tech wizard Liam) have finally got to the PROOFS stage with the book!
What this means is that we've sent everything to the printers, and they've set the book up at their end and send digital proofs for us to look at and approve. We've now done that, so after a few final small technical tweaks, the printers can start to work their magic on putting the finished book together, and within a few weeks they should be delivered to us here in Limerick, where we can sign them all, then start the process of shipping them out (or hand delivering them, if you live locally to us).
We're almost there, folks!!!!
To thank you all for your patience (well, those of you who pre-ordered a copy!), here's the proof of the front cover, back cover, and spine. Those little lines won't be there in the final book, of course - they're just there as a guide for the printers. I was going to crop them out, but I think it's pretty cool to see how it looks at this stage of the game, before they forge ahead and start printing!
(If you didn't pre-order a copy back when we were crowdfunding, the bad news is that at the moment this is a very limited edition, mainly just for those who pre-ordered. But the good news is that there WILL be a more widely available edition on sale further down the line -- I'm just not sure when exactly that will be, so you might face a fairly long wait...)
