2 Ways to help you Speak-up at work

Hello Wonderful Woman,
I hope this email finds you doing well.
This week, I'd like to talk about valuing yourself and your opinion. In the past I have struggled with speaking-up at work. Having the confidence to believe that my opinion matters, that my voice should be heard and that my ideas and knowledge have value. Was a struggle, that I overcame, which allowed me to become my "own thought leader" in my life.
I want you know that in this world where there is so much happening, that your unique perspective as woman is needed more than ever to solve world and workplace problems. That now is the moment to choose to make a change and to commit to speaking-up for yourself at work, and any place where you want to be heard.
Here are two tips for speaking up at work:
Step 1 - Self-Awareness
Think about why you don't have the tendency to speak-up. Challenge the belief that is holding you back.
Step 2 - Practice
Lean into your discomfort! Find one regular meeting that you're asked for your update/opinion and commit to speaking in that meeting. Consider going first or early on so that you don’t have time to let yourself off the hook!
Have you ever thought about what stops you from speaking-up at work? Could this habit of being agreeable or not feeling confident in sharing your thoughts be preventing you from creating the career success that you desire?
Have you considered the following:
Other people don’t know better. They aren’t better than you.
They just believe that they SHOULD be heard. So they speak-up.
Wouldn't it be nice if you could speak-up and own your voice in the spaces you want to be heard?
I believe that your voice matters. I believe in your thoughts, ideas, and perspective has so much value.
Warm Regards,
Ekua
