Are you guilty of these 4 "Listening Sins"?

Hello Lovely New Coach & Consultant,
How are you doing?
I am well. I've just returned from a business trip to Portugal. 🌞🏖
I was there as a facilitator. The most import job of a facilitator is to listen more than they talk and to help attendees to reflect, analyse and decide on what they are committing to for their future selves.
We can also use these skills on ourselves as coaches and consultants to help us to engage in "active listening".
But first, are you "Guilty of any of these 4 Listening Sins"?
❌ Listening only to respond!
❌ Not fully listening and anticipating what will be said before it is said!
❌ Being defensive and not willing to listen.
❌ Listening only to defend your corner or position!
Yes, me too! 😳😳🤦🏾♀️ 🤦🏾♀️
Here are 3 tips to help you take your listening skills to level that helps you to create a better dialogue between you and your potential clients:
✅ Mindset: When you are doing client discovery calls, it really is about discovery! Be curious, open and listen to hear if the client is the right fit or not.
✅ Check for Understanding: Ask open questions and as if you have been understood. If you hear something was unclear, explain it again ask if you were understood.
✅ Clarity: Be clear that you are there to support your client to see options in front of them and to choose what it is right for them. They need to be clear what the choices are and how your product or service can help them.
I hope you have a great day ahead.
Warm Regards,
Ekua 💛
